VOYAGE OF DISCOVERY: AN IDEAL DAY IN TORONTO
Welcome to "Voyage of Disovery"--an interactive lesson designed to equip you with some basic Internet search skills and sharpen your problem-solving abilities. The lesson was created by Mary, Selia, Suzie, Mary Anne, Hyesook and Matilda using constructivist models. For a fuller explanation of some of the challenges involved in this type of lesson design and collaboration, see "Constructing in Collaboration".
YOUR
TASK:
You are going on a voyage to discover
or re-discover the beautiful city of Toronto. To complete yourvoyage,
you will be required to use a number of Internet search engines.
You are to locate and assess Internet sites that will assist
you in designing two "perfect days" in Toronto. You will choose
clients from the choices given in "Learning Materials." One of the
clients may be you. Then you will create itineraries for each
of the clients you selected based on a 24 hour period. In your itineraries,
you must include times, costs, transportation modes, accomodations,
meals, snacks, etc. Also, you must identify the Internet sites you
used to help you write your itineraries.
FINAL PRODUCTS:
To assist you in planning your work,
a "Checklist of Tasks" is
included in the "Evaluation
of Lesson" section of the Web Page.
Good luck. We hope you enjoy your voyage
of discovery.
