I offer the following in case you need to contact me at any time before, or during, the course. Unless you are writing about something that applies only to you personally, you are encouraged to post questions in the appropriate Forums in Pepper. Then all can benefit!
1. Email is the best form of contact if you have personal concerns that do not apply to the class as a whole. I usually access my email several times a day from wherever I am. If that will not be possible, I will post a note in the course site providing dates during which I will be out of contact. Email address: selia.karsten@utoronto.ca the email sent here is also filtered to drkarsten@rogers.com
2. My home office: I am not on campus at OISE/UT so I work out of my home office where I have my computers, tablets and files. My phone number there is 416 533-6766. I do not mind taking calls in the evening (until 10:00 pm Eastern time) or on weekends since I realize that you work too and might not be able to make the call during a week day. There is voice mail on that phone number. If you get the voice mail, you will hear me say the phone number. Please leave all of the information I will need. Time of call. Date. Reason for the call. My response to you will be by phone and/or by e-mail unless this is an emergency.
3. Although this is an online
course, I certainly appreciate the value of meeting in person. It is probably
not possible to make an appointment to meet with me face-to-face especially
if you are in need of a tutorial that cannot be easily handled in chat
online. In the past I could meet you in the education commons where there
are computers for demonstration purposes however, with the restrictions
due to covid19 that is not possible. Please contact me by email to
make a date depending on whatever is available.
