Survive and thrive is an online conference for beginning teachers presented by the Ontario Teachers' Federation and participating affiliates, OECTA and ETFO.  Participation is free but the site requires registration. There are helpful print resources to download and use.  Online discussion groups have expert facilitators.  Topics include classroom management, parent-teacher relationships, managing stress, assessment and reporting, and professional issues.

Special Needs Web Site

SNOW (Special Needs Opportunities Windows) - is a project aimed at supporting educators of students with special needs. It serves as a clearing house of practical resources and curriculum materials, as a place for educators to meet and share ideas, and as a place for educators to develop their professional skills.  SNOW also offers workshops designed for Educational Assistants and support personnel working with children with special needs in the province of Ontario.
