Under the Drugless Practitioners' Act, Shiatsu Therapy falls in the category of Therapeutic Massage and as such is not covered by O.H.I.P. A number of Extended Health Plans do cover a certain percentage of Therapeutic Massage Treatments.   You may be fully or partially covered for Shiatsu Massage Therapy by your Health Insurance Plan when treatment is administered by a registered massage therapist.  Motor Vehicle Accident cases are fully covered by auto insurance plans. MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS AND BILL 164

Bill 164 was amended by provincial legislation to provide MVA victims with early rehabilitative health care.  The bill allows for full insurance benefits up to 2 years following physical as well as psychological trauma sustained as a result of motor vehicle accident injuries.

Therapists at the Shiatsu Centre have gained considerable experience in working with these clients and have established our credentials with other professionals as well as our clientele.  When Shiatsu Therapy is administered by a shiatsu therapist , the MVA victim does not pay because the insurance company is billed directly.
