small world
My classrooms both real and virtual have students from all over the world.  Many of them speak another language as their first language.   Very bravely they are learning English at the same time that they are mastering new skills.  The very least I can do is learn a few words in their language.   I hope to achieve a closer bond with my students and in the process I want to remind myself of what a difficult challenge they are meeting as they learn how to communicate in my language.

What phrases can be used  to make these connections?  I invite your participation in this project. Please send me your interpretation of these words and phrases in other languages. Dr. Selia Karsten, professor
