The original poem called "My Heart" was written by the Sufi poet Ibn ‘Arabi - I have written my own poem inspired by his poem. I invite you to write your own poem inspired by the original poem and send it to me....isa@axxent.ca
My Heart by Ibn ‘Arabi
My heart has become capable of every
form
it is a pasture for gazelles
and a monastery for Christian monks
and a temple for idds
and the ka’ba of the pilgrims
and the tablets of the Torah
and the book of the Koran
I follow the religion of love
whatever path love’s camel takes
that is my religion
and my faith
My Heart
by Isabella Colalillo Katz
My heart has become capable of every form
it is a meadow of wildflowers
and a refuge for lost birds
it is a wilderness waiting for rain
a cultivated garden for butterflies
and sunlight
it is a pillow of comfort
where all beings come to rest
I follow the path of love
whatever road it takes
that is my breath and my life.
